This interesting little Hermitage is located on the skirts of the Montgo mountain in Denia.
Little peacefull walk.

The Hermitage was built in honour of Friar Pedro Esteve , who was born in Denia in the 1500's and who  is claimed to have cured those who fell ill during the out break of cholera in  1633 by parading the  figure of the " Santisima Sang " through the streets and then blessing the bread and feeding it to the sick.

The grounds  have a small but beautiful way of the cross and a shrine where you will find a collection of burning candles.

The original hermitage is made of rock and access is rather cramped,  once inside you will find an assortment of candles , photos and flowers, this is where the aclaimed monk would spend hours meditating and praying.
The main Chapel was built at a later date and is usually open most of the day, note the original slot for charity money to the right of the main door.
This is a lovely peaceful place to take your time waliking around and investigating it's nooks and crannies!

Enjoy!!

Note : This enchanting hermitage also is on the Geocache map.
