La Ermita de Santa Anna - Benissa
Make a space in your agenda to visit the delightful little hermitage of Santa Anna situated at 1km from the outskirts of Benissa town.
Easy walk with a small hill, all tarmac..
If your fancy walking , leave your car at the Bus stop next to Bar Frau and follow the signs for Ermita Santa Anna , it will take you about 20 minutes.
The walk will take you past an old wash house that has been restored and then wind gently down to the Hermitage.
Santa Anna was built in 1613 and opens her doors to all during her own particular " fiesta " on the 26th of July every year , where procesions , dancing and picniking take place during the course of the day in the grounds of the hermitage , which is decorated with colourfull streamers.
From here you can also carry on your walk through the Santa Anna ravine , adjoining the Quisi valley and eventually ending up in Calpe , by following the old goat tracks.
This is a much longer walk so go prepared.
